By the gods! Could it
be? Another video review! Indeed it is! This month, we take a look at Disney’s
elaborately titled Action Game Featuring Hercules. Released in 1997, this game
is commendable for its visual design more than anything, in that it REALLY does
look like the movie. Sadly, it obviously doesn’t bear the same godlike strength
as it did in the late 90s, but does this offering still hold up?
Absolutely not. It’s
entertaining as a nostalgic diversion, and some levels are admittedly
well-made. Most of the items are hidden rather well, and there is some
challenge to it. But ultimately, Hercules ain’t the impressive muscleman we all
fondly remember. It’s a decent enough movie tie-in for its age, but this game
is hardly a gift from the gods!
