The Simpsons: Hit & Run (PS2) - i don't have a nose Video Review!

This is the quintessential Simpsons game. And if you're a Simpsons fan and are still yet to play it, just ask yourself, are you really a Simpsons fan? Really?! This game is filled to the brim with references galore. Almost all of the vehicles are derived from episodes of the show, and the driving controls are surprisingly satisfying. But for me, this game's biggest appeal is its map of the town. As Homer, Bart, Lisa, Marge and Apu, you can roam the streets of Springfield and kick as many innocent pedestrians as you like with only the fear of a $50 fine. Where have you had a better offer than that?!

Futurama (PS2) - i don't have a nose Video Review!

Welcome to the world of tomorrow! In 2003, a video game based on Matt Groening's sci-fi sitcom was released! Ever wanted the chance to roam around New New York of your own accord? Well... you still can't. Indeed, this game doesn't allow you to explore the series' universe(s) to the extent that the Simpsons games do. But is it nonetheless a worthy addition to the franchise?

Story-wise, arguably yes. But the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired - it feels a little TOO reminiscent of some older games, and while it might be true that the intention was to pay homage to such titles, the truth is that these older games were much, MUCH better. Who'd have thought the world of tomorrow would maintain such dated mechanics?

First of all, I just wanna apologise for the shocking quality of my video camera footage. I am intending to purchase a new, better camera VERY soon, as the blurriness of the footage is becoming increasingly distracting as the quality of the game footage improves. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy!

Over the Hedge (PS2) - i don't have a nose Video Review!

Back in 2006, DreamWorks unveiled what is arguably possibly one of their most underrated animated features - Over the Hedge. With an all-star cast consisting of the likes of Bruce Willis and Steve Carell, it's quite the surprise it's since been all but forgotten. But is the game faithful to the movie?

As a matter of fact, the game is a wholly different animal, with a wholly different plot. Indeed, the story is... interesting to say the least, as the evil Sniffer has captured a plethora of woodland pests and placed them under his control... for some reason I cannot fathom. Will the villainous Verminator succeed? Not in my back yard!

Disney's Tarzan (PS1) - i don't have a nose Video Review!

Back in 1999, Disney Interactive presented us with the opportunity to explore the jungle as the eponymous vine-swinging, tree-surfing, lemon-wielding Tarzan! Along with his friends Terk and Tantor (who presumably also speaks gorilla), Tarzan is faced with some of his most threatening enemies yet – including Sabor the leopard, Brian Blessed, and some adorable monkeys for some reason. Often cited as a PlayStation classic, does Tarzan’s jungle journey stand the test of time?

In some ways, yes. In fact, it follows the events of the movie surprisingly well, and while sometimes the controls can be a little stilted, on the whole it’s very smooth. It’s refreshing to play as the other characters besides Tarzan himself too, even if the gameplay isn’t all that innovative. All in all, it’s a swinging success!

Madagascar (PS2) - i don't have a nose Video Review!

Thanks to Amzy Yzma for the request! You've struck lucky as I was intending to cover this game anyway, meaning you have another request on the way soon-ish. Apologies to anyone if I haven't covered your requests yet - I've more reviews on the way, some of which are requests and others are just regular planned videos.  Ever wanted the chance to play alongside some of your favourite characters from DreamWorks' Madagascar? As well as some other characters who weren't in the movie that you never wanted to meet at all? Well, do I have the game for you!

In 2005, Activision presented us with Madagascar for the PS2, and it most definitely is a wild ride! Taking control of a lion, a hippo, a surprisingly dexterous zebra, and a flying giraffe (yes, you read that correctly), this game loosely follows the plot of the hit DreamWorks animated movie! And when I say loosely, I mean very loosely. Featuring such memorable characters as 'Morris' the albino croc, Wilbur the pervy pig, and Big Louie. Yeah. You remember Big Louie. You know... that guy.

Chicken Little (PS2) - i don't have a nose Video Review!

Thanks to Jacob Lippincott for the request! I hope I did the game justice. I also have this nagging feeling someone requested this a while ago but I apparently never made a note of it, which is very unlike me, so apologies if you did and I didn't credit you for the request! I scoured my comments and messages but to no avail - sorry! :( I feel shame.

This month I'm taking a look at a game based on one of Disney's few stinkers - Chicken Little. It looks good from a distance, but sadly this game is no spring chicken.

In fact, it's pretty damn difficult! The controls are awkward and while the level design is fairly neat at times, it becomes a little repetitive towards the end. That said, it's not the worst movie tie-in, and is nonetheless enjoyable on the whole. Will it prove to be a good egg? I don't have high hopes.

Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf (PS1) - i don't have a nose Video Review!

Who else has always wanted the chance to play as Wile E Coyote? Well, you can't. But you CAN play as his cousin, the so-not-similar-looking Ralph Wolf, in Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf - also known as Sheep Raider in some regions. And boy, am I surprised at its shear difficulty (get it?)!

This game is extremely challenging, and sees you having to actually THINK like a cartoon character, the goal simply being to steal all the sheep from Sam Sheepdog's flock without getting caught. Bizarrely, this game is seldom talked about, which is a shame considering how well-made it is. Indeed, amid the other standard cartoon action platformers, this game stands alone - you might say it's something of a black sheep itself.
